Mississauga, Canada native Alyssah Ali was discovered at age sixteen in a local shopping mall, and started working as a model two years later. Her first breakthrough was staring alongside Vincent Cassel in Yves Saint Laurent’s ‘La Nuit de l’Homme’ fragrance campaign.
Ali has appeared in numerous fashion and beauty campaigns including Sephora, Target, and Yamamay, the latter photographed by Ellen von Unwerth. Ali also starred in Chanel Perfection Lumière campaigns for two consecutive years; most recently, she appeared in the French house's ‘Metiers d’Arts’ Paris | Bombay spectacle.
In addition to gracing the cover of Vogue India, the geology and astrology enthusiast has been featured in various editorials for Elle Sweden, and Paolo Roversi captured for her Vogue Italia. Ali names her multi-ethnicity--her parents are from Trinidad originally--as one of her strong points.
Off-duty, Ali is actively involved with Free the Children, an organization dedicated to empowering youth to become curious and engaged local and global citizens. Ali is also a consummate hostess, and enjoys baking and cooking for friends. She cites Audrey Hepburn as one of her favorite public figures "for her grace, elegance, and humanity–a true beauty, inside and out."
