Chicago, Illinois native Amanda Murphy is a world-renowned fashion model and certified radiologist. She was discovered at an open casting call in her hometown at age seventeen, but took a break from walking the international runways to pursue her medical studies.
Murphy, a muse to Miuccia Prada, opened two consecutive Prada collections, and Steven Meisel photographed her for a series of advertising campaigns for the Italian design giant. Additional achievements include the covers of Vogue Italia, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, and i-D magazine, by Meisel, Mario Sorrenti, and Willy Vanderperre, respectively. Murphy has also appeared in various editorial features for Vogue—US and UK, and appeared on the runway for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Gucci, Céline, Dries Van Noten, Chloé, and Tom Ford, among others.
When she’s not examining medical patients or sitting for celebrated lensmen, Murphy, a budding equestrian, enjoys jumping with her horse, Jesabel, kickboxing, and spending quality time with friends and family, including her rescue Pitbull and Labrador mix, Duke.
