Budapest, Hungary native Barbara Palvin was discovered at age 12 while running errands with her mother in a nearby village. She received her first break in 2010 walking as an exclusive for Prada in Milan, and since then has walked for designers such as Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, and Nina Ricci. Barbara captured the attention of Karl Lagerfeld after casting her in a Chanel Haute Couture show in Saint-Tropez, and subsequently booked her for multiple advertising campaigns for the Chanel's cosmetics and fragrance collections.
In less than two seasons on the international fashion circuit, Barbara famously walked her first Victoria’s Secret runway show and signed on as a global beauty ambassador for L’Oréal cosmetics. Barbara has also fronted promotions for Calvin Klein, A.P.C., H&M, and Uniqlo—photographed by Ryan McGinley, and starred in Calvin Klein’s Forbidden Euphoria fragrance campaign by Steven Meisel.
Photographers including Terry Richardson, Mert & Marcus, Sebastian Kim, Alasdair McLellan, Giampaolo Sgura, Cuneyt Akeroglu, David Bellemere, Sølve Sundsbø and Angelo Pennetta have also photographed Barbara for W Magazine, V Magazine, CR Fashion Book, i-D, Wonderland, and Antidote, and global editions of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, L'Officiel, Glamour, Numéro, and Elle. On top of modeling, Barbara has started to explore acting and in 2014 made her hollywood debut in blockbuster hit, Herculus.
Off-duty, Barbara is an avid reader (her favorite author is Leslie L. Lawrence), and loves the outdoors. She also co-founded the geo-location app, We Save Us, which provides emergency alerts for disaster relief.
