Danika Brysha was born and raised on Long Island, New York, and made a cross-country family move to Newport Beach, California when she was 12 years old. Armed with acne, a broken ankle, and the fashion sense of a ninja turtle, Danika used her friendly personality and sense of humor to ease the preteen pains of transferring to a new junior high halfway through the school year.
From the time she was very young, Danika wanted to model but struggled to fit her curvy body into what she thought the industry size requirements were. After graduating from college, while working behind the camera in television production on the HBO show "True Blood", Danika was scouted by a modeling agency to be a "plus size" model, allowing her to live out her dream at her natural size and shape.
Off duty, Danika is passionate about wellness, specifically educating others on the benefits of healthy eating. In 2014 she launched her business, Model Meals, which offers organic, healthy meal delivery to a variety of clients. In 2015 she found herself competing against other models who were also chefs on The Food Network's hit show "Chopped". In her free time, she hosts wellness retreats, creates video content aimed to help others to live their fullest lives possible, and spoons with her 220lb English Mastiff, Kingsley. She is also an excellent freestyle rapper. Because that's important.
