American model Darius Johnson was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from University of Massachusetts, and practiced Economic Forecasting at a prominent financial institution in New York City prior to pursuing a career in fashion.
In an effort to find his passion, Johnson tried his hand as an assistant photographer. However, his friends urged him to explore a career on the other side of camera and within weeks he joined IMG Models.
Select editorial features include Elle, Nylon, and office magazines. His runway credits, meanwhile, include Billy Reid, John Elliottt + Co, and emerging label KYE. Johnson, a self-professed "chill guy," cites Steve Jobs, Jerry Seinfeld, and Larry David among his style icons.
Off-duty, the multitasking model (he's also an aspiring filmmaker) enjoys writing screenplays and acting. Johnson lists Éric Rohmer, Jean-Luc Godard, and The Coen Brothers as his cinematic heroes.
