More than just a model, Miranda Kerr brings credibility and recognition to those she chooses to selectively work with. Miranda was born and raised in the small country town of Gunnedah, NSW, Australia surrounded by farmland and wilderness. Her love for nature and organic living became an intrinsic part of her life from a very young age. Whether it was climbing trees, riding horses or swimming in the river, Miranda spent much of her childhood outdoors and carefree.
Miranda’s introduction to modeling came unexpectedly at age thirteen when her friend entered her in the 1997 Dolly Magazine modeling competition. Her win sparked significant media attention, and she became the most sought after new face, however she postponed modeling full time until she finished high school. She went on to study Nutrition and Health Psychology at the Academy of Natural Living. With her studies complete, she was able to focus on modeling full time, and it wasn’t long before she embarked on the international scene.
In 2008, Victoria’s Secret signed Miranda as its newest Angel. She was the first Australian model to appear in the brand's annual televised runway show, and went on to model the iconic Fantasy Treasure Bra, worth $2.5 million in 2011.
Runway and beyond
In addition to Victoria’s Secret, Miranda has walked the runway for designers such as Prada, Balenciaga, Stella McCartney, Miu Miu, Lanvin, Chanel, Christian Dior, John Galliano, and Loewe. She has also appeared in international luxury campaigns for Prada, Jil Sander, Bally, and most recently Swarovski.
Miranda continues her trajectory rise as Australia’s highest profile model, and as one of the world's most in-demand and influential faces in the world of fashion and style. Miranda’s diversity and character spans categories from health & fitness, e-commerce, fashion and accessories, to lifestyle, homewares, beauty, haircare, skincare and fragrance, and one of Australia’s most iconic brands, Qantas.
Her career has consisted of a mix of high profile runway shows, and fashion and beauty shoots, as well television and print advertisements. Miranda graced the first-ever 3D cover of Vogue Italia photographed by Steven Meisel, and she also appeared on the covers of Purple Magazine by Terry Richardson, and the US edittion of Elle by Alexei Hay. Miranda is the Founder and Managing Director of KORA Organics, an organic skincare company she founded and launched in 2009. KORA Organics is currently available in over 400 stores in Australia, and internationally on www.koraorganics.com and the luxury e-retailer Net-A-Porter. Building on her passion for all things holistic and natural, in 2010 Miranda graduated from New York's School of Integrative Nutrition and become a Certified Health Coach.
In September 2010, Miranda released her debut book, Treasure Yourself, with an aim to encourage young women to embrace their individuality and listen to their hearts. Treasure Yourself has been consistently on the best sellers list of books in Australia and has been translated into nine different languages. In September 2011, Treasure Yourself was selected as one of the top 50 books in Australia under the Australian Governments "Get Reading Initiative" program. Miranda’s highly anticipated sophomore title, Empower Yourself, was released in December 2013.
