For over fifty years, Maye Musk, MS RDN, has been an internationally recognized model and a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist with two Master of Science degrees. She has captured worldwide attention with her timeless beauty and natural grey hair look, sparking a “greynaissance” amongst younger and older generations alike.
Musk’s modeling career began at fifteen in South Africa. Musk modeled while raising three children, practicing as a dietitian and earning multiple degrees. To date, she has modeled in campaigns for Virgin America, Target, Macy’s, Joe Fresh and James Perse. She has graced the covers of Elle Quebec, L’Officiel Azerbaijan, and Zoomer, among others. Her notable New York Magazine cover was named “Cover of the Year” by the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME). She has also appeared in numerous television commercials and music videos, including Beyonce’s “Haunted“ video.
Unique in her field as a registered dietitian in South Africa, Canada and the United States, Musk has won acclaim as a consulting dietitian in each country. At The American Dietetic Association’s annual conference in 2006, Musk was awarded the Outstanding Nutrition Entrepreneur of the Year. As a nutrition expert, Musk gives presentations around the world. She inherited her adventurous spirit from her Canadian parents who once flew 22,000 miles in a single engine plane, from South Africa to Australia. Musk is passionate about helping her community, and serves on the Los Angeles Board of The Kitchen Community; their Learning Gardens Project introduces children in underserved schools around the country to real food by planting vegetable gardens.
A published author, Musk's book, “Feel Fantastic,” combines her experience in both fields; focusing on wellness and insider beauty tips she learned in the fashion industry. She was also the first dietitian to be featured on a cereal box.
Whether walking the runway, modeling for a fashion magazine or sharing her knowledge of nutrition and wellness, Maye Musk exudes a confidence and elegance that sets her apart in both fields. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her three children, Elon, Kimbal and Tosca, and her ten wonderful grandchildren.
