Melbourne, Australia native Shanina Shaik had an early start in the industry at age eight. Upon completing her studies and gaining significant media attention as a contestant on the Australian reality series Make Me A Supermodel, Shaik moved to New York City and signed with IMG Models. In 2017, Shaik is slated to start opposite Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe in a reboot of The Mummy film franchise.
Shaik received her big break courtesy of the Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show; She walked in the annual televised spectacle for four consecutive years. In addition to the aforementioned, select runway appearances include Chanel, Tom Ford, and Stella McCartney, among others. Shortly thereafter, David Sims photographed her for a series of Sephora cosmetics promotions, and she also appeared in advertisements for Smashbox, and L’Oreal.
Shaik has graced the covers of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore, Lurve, and Sunday Life Australia magazines, and has also appeared in editorial features for the international editions of Vogue, W, and Interview.
Off-duty, the Australian expat enjoys kickboxing, and indulging with chocolate chip cookie dough with chocolate ice cream while cheering on her favorite sports teams, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Knicks. Shaik is also an avid supporter of charities Telethon and Youth Focus, and aims to someday mentor children overcome difficult issues.
