French-Tunisian newcomer, Sonia Ben Ammar, is the embodiment of a triple-threat on the rise. The actress, singer and model has amassed almost 400 thousand Instagram followers and become one of the most buzzed about new faces with only a few projects under her belt. More than anything, Sonia’s industry-shaking entrance has set the stage for a wunderkind in the making.
Born in Paris, France to actress Beata Ben Ammar and film producer Tarak Ben Ammar, the dark-haired beauty was first scouted on the streets of her hometown. She made her debut at Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2017 show where onlookers were immediately captured by the 18-year-old’s striking, blue-eyed stare and delicate features. That same season, Sonia walked Chanel followed by an opening spot at Alta Moda and Dolce & Gabanna’s menswear show in Milan.
Sonia has subsequently become a muse to Dolce & Gabanna, appearing in four consecutive runway shows and starring in three campaigns including the brand’s spring/summer 2017 eyewear and clothing campaigns, shot by Franco Pagetti; as well as the fall/winter 2017 campaign, shot by the Morelli Brothers, featuring D&G’s new cast of millennial superstars.
Sonia has also appeared in editorial spreads for Vogue Mexico, Vanity Fair Italy, L’Officiel Paris and, most recently, appeared in Love Magazine. The aspiring singer has been openly working on music for years, but her sound has been relatively unheard save for the rare dusting of covers on YouTube. However, she is already poised to make boundless waves when she finally reveals her self-described “dark-pop” project. Now a recent high school graduate, Sonia will continue to juggle school, modeling and putting the finishing touches on her debut album as she goes on to attend University of Southern California.
